MARCUS and MARTINUS are twin brothers from Trofors, Norway. Although they are just 15 years old they have released three albums to date. They wrote their first song “To Dråper Vann” at the age of 9. This song led them to win the MPGJr singing contest in 2012 at just 10 years old. In 2015 they released their first English hit single called “Girls.” Other titles like “Heartbeats” and “Light It Up” featuring dancehall singer Samantha J, came shortly after.
“Light It Up” is an energetic pop song. Samantha J brings a lively island flair to the rocking beat. The bass line pumps as Samantha J urges everyone to jump up to the ceiling and “bun up di dance floor.” The first verse is a filled with catchy lyrics and the second verse is an eloquent mashup of house and dancehall. Samantha J is a versatile artist out of Kingston, Jamaica, who has made both pop and dancehall hits. Her blended style adds some fire to this already blazing single.
